ZANZIBAR

Zanzibar opened its borders to South African travellers on the 28th of November. I took the opportunity to brush up on my knowledge of the island, including some resorts.

Some important things to take note of when travelling to Zanzibar during COVID: * No Quarantine is required * Mandatory negative PCR test upon arrival. (Not older than 72 hours.) * You will also need to do a PCR test in Zanzibar for your return to SA. Some resorts are offering the tests at their property. Otherwise travellers will need to make their way to Stone Town to get it done. Please check this with me and factor in the cost thereof.

Zanzibar is a short 3h35 minute direct flight from Johannesburg, so makes it for a great holiday, if you don’t want to travel too far. All the resorts are very traditional and African in style, with thatched roofs and they look and reflect Island life.
