Day 1 - 2 | Amazon Jungle Reserve

Begin the journey in Manaus, the gateway to the Brazilian Amazon, and set sail to witness the extraordinary Meeting of the Waters. This natural phenomenon is where the dark Rio Negro and sandy-brown Rio Solimões flow side by side for over 4km before merging, a result of their differing temperatures and densities. It’s a striking introduction to the wonders of the Amazon. As the boat continues deeper into the rainforest, marvel at the lush landscapes and spot wildlife along the riverbanks. Passing through local villages gives you a glimpse into life in this unique environment before arriving at your lodge nestled in the heart of the jungle. After a refreshing lunch, take time to unwind before venturing out on a guided canoe trip through the igarapés (narrow waterways) and igapós (flooded forests), an ideal way to get up close with the vibrant wildlife surrounding your lodge.

Start the second day with an unforgettable sunrise as the Amazon comes alive with sound and activity. Early morning is the best time to observe wildlife, accompanied by the symphony of the rainforest waking up. After breakfast - likely shared with some curious monkeys - set off on a guided hike to explore the dense jungle. Learn about the region’s medicinal plants and fascinating ecosystem from a knowledgeable local guide. Post-lunch at the lodge, embark on a unique fishing adventure to catch piranhas. Despite their fearsome reputation, these fish primarily feed on fallen fruit, and spotting them is part of the fun. Keep an eye out for playful pink and grey river dolphins, often seen swimming alongside boats.

Day 3 - 4 | Rio de Janeiro
Begin your Rio adventure with a guided tour that takes you to some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Enter Tijuca National Park, the world’s largest urban forest, and ascend Corcovado Mountain to the base of the towering Christ the Redeemer statue. From this vantage point, take in breathtaking views of lush forests and Rio’s sprawling cityscape as it merges with the azure waters of the Atlantic. The tour continues with a stroll through Rio’s historical centre, where cobblestone alleys and colonial architecture tell the city’s rich story. Then, head to Sugarloaf Mountain and take a cable car ride to the summit, offering a stunning 360-degree panorama that includes Guanabara Bay, Copacabana Beach, and even Christ the Redeemer from a new perspective.

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax at your hotel or soak up the sun at one of Rio’s famous beaches. As evening sets in, indulge in local delicacies at a beachside restaurant, sampling fried cod cakes and other savoury finger foods. Pair your meal with a refreshing caipirinha, Brazil’s signature cocktail - though its sweet, smooth taste can be deceivingly potent! Whether exploring Rio’s vibrant cityscape or savouring its coastal charm, these days are bound to leave a lasting impression.

Day 5 - 7: Iguazú Falls
Arrive at Foz do Iguaçu Airport and dive straight into the awe-inspiring beauty of Iguaçu Falls. Your journey begins with a private guided tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, offering panoramic views of this Natural World Wonder. Surrounded by a vibrant jungle teeming with exotic wildlife and colourful butterflies, the highlight of the day is the breathtaking Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), a thunderous cascade over 262 feet high. Eleanor Roosevelt famously remarked, "Poor Niagara," upon seeing its grandeur. For an unforgettable perspective, consider adding an optional helicopter ride for a bird’s-eye view of the falls. After soaking up the beauty of the Brazilian side, retreat to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu for a relaxing evening.

On the following day, cross the border into Argentina’s Iguazu National Park. A short train ride takes you to Devil’s Throat, where the immense power of the waterfall leaves visitors speechless. Wooden walkways lead you through the jungle and offer unparalleled views of over 270 cascading waterfalls from both upper and lower circuits. These elevated paths protect the natural habitat while giving you access to some of the most breathtaking vistas in the park. After a full day of exploration, return to your accommodation in Foz do Iguaçu to unwind and reflect on your incredible experience.
