The Irish government has unexpectedly announced, effective 10 July 2024, new visa requirements for South African and Botswana nationals.

What does this mean for you as a traveller? You must obtain a visa before your departure to Ireland.

If you made a booking before 10 July 2024, and are travelling before 9 August 2024, you will be allowed to travel without a visa. However, you must present proof of purchase from your airline carrier along with your valid passport.
