My name is Marion Pearson and I am your Travel Counsellor! I am locally based here in sunny South Africa. Johannesburg has been my home since I was 19 years old but every time I travel I leave a piece of myself behind… I suppose in a way a “marker” for me to return and relive the memories. I am the youngest of 4 children and I am very close to my siblings, family is always close to my heart and I would not be the person I am today if it wasn’t for them.
Before becoming a Travel Counsellor in 2021, as a young adult, I always had the dream of travelling and exploring the world. To reach this dream, there was only one way – study and learn as much as I can. I qualified with distinctions in a Travel & Tourism Career Diploma, City and Guilds Certificate and GDS system course. Since 2004 I have been fortunate enough to work in various sectors of the travel industry; corporate and leisure travel, tour operator, leisure and groups. This lets me develop skills in planning and creating the most memorable experiences for my clientele.
One of the perks of being a travel agent in this industry, is the opportunities it afforded me to travel, both professionally and personally. To experience first-hand the destinations and places that I love and then to be able to share this with my clients is invaluable. Some of the destinations that I have been to include: Mauritius, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Australia, Thailand, USA, Greece, Austria and Croatia. I always had it on my bucket list that I wanted to set foot on every continent, so far I have 5 down (Africa, Asia, Australia, North America, Europe) with 2 more to go; Antarctica and South America.

With the festive season nearly here, we are all getting excited about the prospect of travelling once again. Whether it’s that long weekend break from the city, a well-deserved and long-overdue holiday with family or just enjoying a day out and about with friends….a little bit of travel is good for the soul. I think we have all missed exploring the world with the people that mean the most to us. This year is a local trip for me and I am heading down to the beautiful region of the Cape. So excited about all the aspects of travelling again and enjoying every moment….the road trip, seeing beautiful landscapes, stopping off at the little shops and quirky towns on the way, spending time at the beach, visiting our local sites, maybe a wine farm or two and most of all enjoying the special moments with family. As the world opens up again, dare to dream, make new travel plans a reality and create those memorable moments again!
