9 Days from R26,299 per person sharing

Set off on a nine-day Egyptian adventure where solo travel feels anything but lonely. With this small group tour - Explore the wonders of the Nile, marvel at the Great Pyramid of Giza, and share a meal with a welcoming Nubian family. Sail on a traditional felucca, savour farm-to-table Egyptian cuisine, and dive into the buzzing bazaars of Aswan and Luxor.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Welcome Feast in Cairo - Arrive by the afternoon and dive straight into Cairo’s buzzing food scene. Join the group for a street food tour, sampling local favourites like falafel and fava beans while soaking up the city’s energy.

Day 2: Pyramids & Culture - Start the day with a visit to the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. No photo can prepare you for seeing them in real life. Then, head to a female-led community kitchen for a bread-making demo and lunch, followed by a visit to the ancient pyramids of Sakkara.

Day 3: Museums, Mosques & Markets - Wander through the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of artefacts and mesmerising mummies. Visit one of Egypt’s oldest churches and two stunning mosques before exploring the lively Khan el-Khalili bazaar. End the day aboard an overnight train to Aswan.

Day 4: Temples & a Taste of Nubian Lifee - Arrive in Aswan and sail across the Nile to explore Philae Temple. Later, take a boat to a Nubian village, where a warm welcome and a traditional home-cooked dinner await.

Day 5: Aswan, Your Way - Spend the day however you like. Visit the breathtaking Abu Simbel, explore an ancient unfinished obelisk, or simply take it slow and soak up the local atmosphere.

Day 6: Sailing the Nile & Temples - Board a traditional felucca for a peaceful sail before stopping at Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the crocodile god. Continue to Luxor, where dinner at a local market sets the tone for the evening.

Day 7: Luxor’s Ancient Wonders - Step into history at the Valley of the Kings, explore the grand Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and marvel at the towering Colossi of Memnon. Lunch with a local family on the West Bank offers a glimpse into daily life, followed by a visit to an alabaster workshop.

Day 8: Cycling & Karnak Temple - Hop on a bike to explore local villages and learn about a community project over tea. Wrap up with a visit to Karnak Temple, then enjoy a free afternoon to explore Luxor’s vibrant bazaars.

Day 9: Farewell, Egypt - The adventure ends here, but the memories and new friendships last a lifetime. Depart anytime you want.
